Lecture performance by Hanna Araujo Ulmer

The performance Putaria – The Body as Catharsis takes its cue from Brazilian funk to reinterpret Brazil’s colonial history and its aftermath. With its political dimension, this musical genre creates a direct connection to the body: dance becomes an act of resignification. After the lecture performance in English, the action moves to the dance floor, where DJ Theory spins Brazilian funk.
