Documentary film by Basel Adra, Hamdan Ballal, Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor

Basel Adra lives in Masafer Yatta in the West Bank and has been fighting against the displacement of his community by the Israeli occupying forces since his childhood. He documents the gradual eradication of the villages in his home region, where soldiers are gradually demolishing houses and displacing their inhabitants on behalf of the Israeli government. One day he meets Yuval, an Israeli journalist who supports him in his efforts. A remarkable alliance and friendship develops. Their relationship is further strained by the enormous inequality between them: Basel lives under military occupation, Yuval lives freely and without restrictions.

The film by a Palestinian-Israeli collective of four young activists was made as an act of creative resistance on the way to a just peace in the Middle East.

No Other Land celebrated its world premiere in the Panorama section of the Berlinale 2024 and received the Berlinale Documentary Award and the Panorama Audience Award. It also screened at CPH:DOX Copenhagen, IndieLisboa and Visions du Réel and won the Audience Award at all three festivals. The film is in the selection for the European Film Awards Documentary 2024.
