Feature film by Muayad Alayan
After the sudden death of her mother, ten-year-old Rebecca moves with her father from the UK to West Jerusalem in the hope of overcoming her grief by making a fresh start there. Shortly after they move into her grandparents’ old house, a series of mysterious events begins for which she is held responsible. The conflict between father and daughter comes to a head when Rebecca discovers that another girl her age is also living in the house. And so Rebecca soon delves into the mystery of the house and the mystical city of Jerusalem on a journey full of riddles to find out what is behind the mysterious occurrences.
With A House in Jerusalem, Muayad Alayan (The Reports on Sarah and Saleem) has created a story that is as exciting as it is touching, exploring the power of memory and the power of love from the perspective of a young girl.
