In the Shades of the Mulberry

Saturday, 10 January, 7 – 8 pm

Musical storytelling evening with Raphael Rodan, Sahand Sahebdivani and Mary Aygetsy

Step into an evening of intimate tales and unexpected laughter as Iranian storyteller Sahand Sahebdivani and Israeli storyteller Raphael Rodan return to the stage.

Bound by a deep, decades-long friendship, they share personal stories rooted in conflict, connection, and love. Together, they revisit “the house their mothers grew up in” – an imagined home under the mulberry tree where memory, myth, and identity intertwine. With humor, heart, and a touch of rebellion, they offer a rare glimpse into what happens when two unlikely friends choose story over silence. Join us beneath the shade of the mulberry – and see what grows there. The stories are accompanied by the angelic singing of Mary Aygetsy, bringing Armenian folk songs to life.
